Should I book my Victoria Falls activities and hotel in advance, or just wing it when I arrive?

Hey everyone! Planning a 3-night trip to Vic Falls soon. Some friends say I must lock in every sunset cruise, helicopter flight, and park tour online right now through an agency. Others say it’s cheaper and easier to book at a local lodge desk or with operators once I land. For those who have been recently, did waiting cost you spots or save you cash? And which side (Zimbabwe or Zambia) actually makes more sense to base yourself on for bookings?

I’d strongly advise booking major high-demand activities (like the helicopter flight, Boma dinner, or specific premium sunset cruises) at least a couple of weeks ahead, especially if you are visiting during peak periods. However, for standard park entry or flexible things like local shuttles, you can sort them out on arrival.One massive trap people fall into is mixing up the countries—staying on the Zambian side (Livingstone) when most of your pre-booked activities are actually on the Zimbabwean side, which wastes time and money on border transfers. Stick to Zimbabwe if you want most viewpoints and easy walkability, but make sure your hotel and activity pickups are coordinated before arrival!
